Briefly share what you do as part of your job

My job is to build the places that our communities live, work, and play. A large part of construction is coordination from schedule to budgets to subcontractor arrivals on our project site. What I love most is there is no day that is the same, every day is different and presents new challenges that I get to work through with my team.

What Inspired You to Explore STEM?

My father was my inspiration for my career. I am a first generation student to go to college, he provided for us by creating his own construction company in Southern California after we moved from the Caribbean. He didn’t have a formal education and became wildly successful.

What Do You Enjoy Most About Your STEM Career?

My greatest joy comes from the people that I am privileged to work with. Our subcontractors take great pride in their work, my co-workers are some of the brightest individuals I’ve met, and we leave behind a legacy that communities benefit from after each project is complete

What is a STEM fact about your field?

PCL has built multiple projects at theme parks all over the country including Disney World, Universal Studios, and Harry Potter World
