About Me
Hello, nice to meet everyone! My name is Julia. I graduated college from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in biomedical engineering. I enjoy reading lots of books, walking my dog Kora, cooking new recipes, and spending time with my family and friends. I also like to learn about new, life-saving medical devices and processes and pass along my experience and passion for STEM to students of all ages.
What Inspired You to Explore STEM?
I liked to draw and paint when I was younger and enjoyed working on projects where I was able to create things. I liked to learn about science and how things work, how things are made, and how we can make things better. I enjoyed science projects because I used art, science, and math to create products to show others.
What Do You Enjoy Most About Your STEM Career?
What I enjoy most in my STEM career is bringing different ideas together to make something great. When I work on different projects in a team I know I am contributing to making the world a better place. I also enjoy solving problems and coming up with creative and new solutions. Everyday brings something different and I get to meet new people.
What is a STEM fact about your field?
An interesting fact about my education and career in STEM is that I can use my skills and knowledge in different places and be creative. I can work with people on developing a plan to make medical devices or work on a project where we help people fix machines. There are so many opportunities within biomedical engineering and project management.
