Vanna is a team player known for her collaborative approach and a talent for devising solutions to address every project challenge, thereby assuring clients project success. Whether it’s foreseeing possible scope gaps, ensuring safety requirements are met or negotiating win-win subcontracts with trade partners, Vanna wholeheartedly embraces the thrill of witnessing her projects come to fruition. 

What inspired you to explore STEM when you were young?

My father was my inspiration for my career. I am a first generation student to go to college, he provided for us by creating his own construction company in Southern California after we moved from the Caribbean. He didn’t have a formal education but became wildly successful.

What do you enjoy most about what you do in your STEM career?

My greatest joy comes from the people that I am privileged to work with. Our subcontractors take great pride in their work, my co-workers are some of the brightest individuals I’ve met, and we leave behind a legacy that communities benefit from after each project is complete.

What is a fun, bizarre or insightful STEM fact about your field?

PCL has built multiple projects at theme parks all over the country including Disney World, Universal Studios, and Harry Potter World.
