My name is Jaylene. I love school and didn’t want to leave. I like being a scientist and learning. I am from a small small town in New Mexico, where I did not even have internet until I was in college!

Developer Educator

I’ve been writing code for most of my life and my favorite way to learn new tech things is to design and develop a game that will require that new-to-me tech knowledge to complete. I’m self taught with technology and studied World history in school because I find humans way more confusing than technology, and it helped a lot!

When it was time to go to college, I chose Mine Engineering because I could use my math and science skills in a way that also let me spend time outside.

I have been a lawyer for 30 years. I like to help solve problems, and work with engineers, geologists, environmental scientists, computer scientists and lots of people who know a lot about STEM. I am also a STEM cheerleader because my 20-year-old daughter is in college for math and physics
