As the Director of Cybersecurity, I lead a team of engineers and analysts protecting DCP Midstream from cybersecurity threats. Additionally, I served for more than 26 years in the United States Air Force. I have traveled throughout the world to include Iraq, Jordan, Brazil, South Korea, Djibouti and Italy. My civilian education consists of B.S. in Management Information Systems and an MBA from Colorado State University.
What inspired you to explore STEM when you were young?
As a child, I always had interest in understanding how things actually worked. Also, I would always enjoy helping my father perform maintenance on our cars and home. While he was working I would ask questions about what the different components did and how that fit into the overall function.
What do you enjoy most about what you do in your STEM career?
I enjoy using STEM to help keep people safe so they can enjoy life.
What is a fun, bizarre or insightful STEM fact about your field?
Cybersecurity is a constantly evolving field which means that everyday we face problems and threats that we did not know about the previous day. Our career field needs students like you to utilize the concepts learned in school and help us solve problems of the future.
