What inspired you to explore STEM when you were young?
When I was younger I knew math was one of my strongest subjects and I always enjoyed problem solving. There are so many STEM careers but as I got older I decided to get into construction because I enjoyed the process of seeing a project from start to finish which one day will have a function that will serve 100’s of people.
What do you enjoy most about what you do in your STEM career?
What I enjoy most is problem solving through issues, its like building a puzzle you must get in contact with multiple people in order to solve one issue and when that problem is solved it brings a sense of joy and achievement to me. This feeling makes me want to go tackle on another problem over and over again.
What is a fun, bizarre or insightful STEM fact about your field?
Women make up only 9.9% of the construction industry in the United States.
