Dawn Small brings to STEM Generation’s advisory council a 20-year background in multifaceted communications and marketing, including a decade of experience in the technology sector. She is passionate about applying her time and skills toward empowering underserved youth and other marginalized populations.
Prior to her current role in communications for the City of Centennial, where she serves as the staff liaison for the city’s youth and senior commissions, Dawn oversaw content marketing for Flexential (formerly ViaWest), a national data center and cloud solutions provider based in Aurora, Colo. She also spent eight years at Arrow Electronics, a distributor of electronic components and computer products, where she was the head of global external communications.
In addition to STEM Generation, Dawn actively volunteers for numerous charitable and civic organizations including serving as a court-appointed special advocate for children in Colorado’s child welfare system. She and her husband have one child – who won first place for a solar energy project in his third grade science fair!
