Carolyn Renaud
Western Governors University
Carolyn “CJ” Renaud has not navigated the parameters of an educational career pathway in the traditional sense. CJ is a retired 22 year veteran of the Aurora Police Department. CJ retired from law enforcement to go to work for Greeley-Evans Schools District 6 where she was the first Black Female Business and Community Partnership Administrator for the district.
CJ left District 6 to work more intentionally helping underserved populations gain affordable access to higher education. CJ currently sits again as the first Sr. Community Relations Liaison for Western Governors University for the North West Region.
Mrs. Renaud brings enthusiasm, passion and a unique skill set to the STEM Generation as she understands the construction of a diverse and empowered pipeline for future STEM leaders. The STEM Generation is on a mission to close the gap in STEM learning and change the image of STEM Professionals. CJ hopes to come alongside this mission and help underserved populations, embrace the new STEM!
CJ believes we are not lacking access to talent. We have so many young talented students across our states. They come from intergenerational poverty situations, low income families of color, schools lacking STEM programs the list goes on and on. What we lack is access to opportunities! STEM Generation is an accessible opportunity for students regardless of their socioeconomic status, race, or gender.
