Hi my name is Brandee, I have been working with PCL Construction for just over a year. I work with designers and builders to help turn a building drawn on a piece of paper into a real life building. I was born and raised in Colorado. Outside of work I like to go to the pool, play sports outside, and play with my dog, Dodger.

What inspired you to explore STEM when you were young?

I always enjoyed building things and I liked working in a group with other people. I have always loved roller coasters and was interested in how they were built, that lead me down the path of a career in STEM.

What do you enjoy most about what you do in your STEM career?

I enjoy watching the project come to life. I am currently on an apartment building and it is amazing to know I am helping build something that people will call their home and enjoy being in every day. I like the idea that we are adding to the community and people are able to drive by a building and see everything the entire team accomplished.

What is a fun, bizarre or insightful STEM fact about your field?

There are so many different jobs needed at a construction company! For example, a company may need: superintendent, financial manager, human resources, labor and craftworker, business development finding new projects, estimater, safety coordinator, and so much more!
